MICRONIZERS FOR FUEL TREATMENT

Micronizer systems improve the efficiency of the fuel treatment on ships and in power plants by simplifying the separator cleaning process and reducing hazardous waste.

When used for fuel cleaning on ships, smart and space optimized IP54 FDU frequency drives are highly regarded for the savings they deliver in terms of operating and fuel cost. The end result is a reduction of hazardous sludge waste by approximately 20%.

ALL COMPONENTS TURNED INTO ONE EMOTRON SOLUTION

Micronizer-based sludge reduction units combining a micronizer system and separators is the latest development to help operators achieve “clean ship certificate” for diesel-powered vessels.

The electric drive system normally involves several components from a number of suppliers resulting in an expensive solution with a high level of administration.

However, with the Emotron system the bypass contactor, sensor, real time clock, temperature controller, switches and fuses are all included in the NEMA 12 / IP54 FDU variable frequency drive. A cabinet is not necessary.

PLUG AND PLAY FROM A SINGLE-SOURCE SUPPLIER

Emotron has assisted in development of the modern electronic setup, involving the efficient FDU with built-in logic function, fully commissioned as a plug-and-play solution.

BUILT-IN LOGIC FUNCTION

When micronizing HFO the oil must have the correct temperature 122-212°F (50-100°C). With the help of the internal logic functions the frequency drive will not start if the oil is too cold to prevent damage of the micronizer.

With the PTC/PT100 option, the temperature is measured and the drive can only be started in a fixed range of temperature.

MARINE CERTIFICATIONS

For this project, NEMA 12 / IP54 inverters with marine certification GL-DNV are used.

At H2flow Controls, expert knowledge is always at your fingertips. Our in-house engineering team works in close conjunction with our supply partners to manage design reviews from start to finish, ensuring that your marine project is in safe-hands. For further peace of mind, we also test all components individually before commissioning.
