EMOTRON-POWERED 24-TON LIFTING WINCH FOR WINDMILL INSTALLATIONS AT SEA

Marine electric applications operate in a world of vibrations, dust, humidity and extreme temperatures. As movements from navigation or rough seas can strain winches and cranes, Emotron has developed a sturdy VFD designed and certified for marine use.

One such VFD winch application is today a reliable workhorse capable of lifting 24-ton windmill loads offshore.

HEAVY LOADS AT GREAT HEIGHT

Windmill installations at sea require strong, sturdy equipment working with absolute accuracy.

The winch must be able to handle 24-ton loads and lift them to over 100 meters high with the 1000m x 32mm winch cable as operated by the PM motor. At the core of the operation is the impressive 110kW heavy duty, air cooled Emotron NEMA 12 / IP54 VFX drive, running the machinery with great precision.

EMOTRON DIRECT TORQUE CONTROL

The Emotron technology has an extremely fast response time since actual and required torque is compared 40,000 times per second.

The VFD can provide the highest possible torque per ampere from a normal industrial motor, offering the option of controlling a motor without a rotor sensor, while still maintaining control of torque and speed.

ProfiNet for communication

The winch is equipped with a 132kW - 400V VSD and a separate ProfiNet precision control solution for integration of the overall system.

COMPLETE SOLUTIONS WITH DUTCH PARTNER

The first prototype was developed together with Dutch partner Marotechniek. The turnkey project was installed by the same company.

Following the installation, CG Emotron is delivering a complete service package with a 24-hour on-site / telephone support agreement to avoid downtime.

CG Emotron can always help during commissioning, finding the perfect balance between your motor and your VFD. We put all our energy into saving yours by ensuring that your equipment is running at optimum efficiency.
