Our History
The Beginning
1998
H2flow was incorporated in December 1998 under the name Emotron Inc. At that time, Emotron Inc. was owned by three individual US-based owners, and Emotron AB - a Swedish company. Emotron AB was the majority shareholder, with approximately 72% of the issued stock.
Strategic Changes
2002

In 2002, Emotron AB initiated a change in its global sales strategy and announced its intention to withdraw from its ownership in all of its foreign subsidiary companies. At this juncture, US-based investors, led by company President, Paul Hackett, purchased Emotron AB's stock in Emotron Inc.
Expanded Operations
2005

In 2005, the company's management team decided to expand the operation to include the design and assembly of complete Motor Control Panels. The company successfully achieved the status of a UL508 Electrical Panel Building facility.
Relocation
2008

In 2008 the company's panel building activity had reached a level whereby its Toledo, Ohio premises were no longer suitable. The company was relocated to its existing premises in Maumee, OH in March 2009.
Introduction to the Pool & Spa Market
2008
In late 2008, shortly after the introduction of the Virginia Graeme Baker Act, Emotron Inc. entered into the swimming pool market. The Act addresses the need to protect bathers from becoming entrapped on the main suction fittings within a pool or spa. Emotron Inc. subsequently developed a product that was tested to the ASME A112-19-17-2002 standard.
The company's entry into the Pool & Spa industry was dramatic and our anti-entrapment PSP20 product rapidly became known as the preferred product for VGB compliance. Since launching the PSP20, we have continued our growth in the pool industry by also launching Variable Speed and flow metering products.
Rebranding
2010
In early 2010, we rebranded our company as H2flow Controls, Inc., though we are perhaps best known simply as H2flow within the industries we serve. The decision to change our name was made in an effort to broaden our product portfolio and develop our own brand image, separate from Emotron AB.
Despite rebranding, H2flow still retains exclusive access to Emotron products in the North American marketplace.
